Jo Hampshire - Vice Principal

My name is Jo Hampshire. I have worked in education for nearly thirty years, in a range of different provisions and roles and, for the majority of my career, I have had the privilege to support children and young people with additional needs. I am passionate that all children, no matter what background or additional need, have the right to an education which prepares them as best as possible for their next steps in life, so am incredibly proud to be part of the team here at Woodlands.

Among my responsibilities as Vice Principal, I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Attendance Lead. I strongly believe children who feel safe and happy, result in them being able to make good progress towards their outcomes. I regularly attend meetings with parents, carers and lead professionals, and also attend monthly regional Safeguarding networks.

Another responsibility I have is Assessment Lead, which means I monitor pupil progress across the school. Progress for our children is inextricably linked to their individual needs, and I strive to ensure we capture and celebrate all the different achievements for each pupil.

I am convinced that partnership working between school and home is essential to achieving positive outcomes, so please do contact me with any concerns you have for the wellbeing or attendance of your child, or if you wish to discuss your child’s progress or ability to access learning.
