My name is Amy Hewitt and I am Vice Principal at Woodlands Academy. I began my teaching career in mainstream education, teaching Modern Foreign Languages and working with a range of students from ages 11-18 before moving to work with students with SEND. I am very proud to work alongside the staff and students in Woodlands Academy.

As part of my responsibilities as Vice Principle I lead on our Upper School provision, working predominantly with KS3 and 4 students to improve their outcomes and leave Woodlands Academy as confident and resilient learners, ready to succeed in the workplace and lead fulfilling, independent lives. I oversee our qualifications and vocational offer which prepares students for their next steps and allows all students to celebrate their successes. In my role I work closely alongside local businesses and external providers to develop our careers and work experience programme to ensure students have enriching opportunities to develop the key skills we believe that our learners need to support them in their future pathways.
